Connecting the Next Generation of Hokkien Youth in Singapore.
Quanshu Youth is a youth-led cultural movement that brings together young people from Quanzhou-rooted Hokkien clans into one shared community. We are here to celebrate our heritage, build lasting friendships, and create meaningful ways for the next generation to connect, contribute, and grow together.
Our Purpose
Our goal is to make heritage feel relevant, lived, and forward-looking. We help younger generations discover their roots while building a vibrant community in the present. Through shared events, digital storytelling, volunteering, and cross-clan collaboration, we are turning cultural history into active participation.
Our Story & Legacy
For over a century, Hokkien clan associations have been a cornerstone of the Chinese community in Singapore—supporting early migrants, founding iconic schools, and driving social welfare. Quanshu Youth builds on this proud legacy.
As our community looks to the future, we recognized the need for a modern platform where youth can connect across individual associations. We created Quanshu Youth to ensure that the Hokkien spirit of mutual help, resilience, and cultural pride continues to thrive in a way that speaks to today’s generation.
Our Core Values
Everything we do is guided by four pillars:
- Heritage — Honouring our roots, preserving our stories, and keeping traditions alive for the future.
- Identity — Helping young people understand their clan backgrounds and feel confident in their place within the wider Hokkien community.
- Community — Fostering genuine friendships, networking, and collaboration across different clans in Singapore.
- Service — Giving back to society through outreach, volunteering, and youth leadership.
Who We Bring Together
Quanshu Youth unites young people across eight associations: the historic Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan as our umbrella body, alongside seven clan associations representing localities from the wider Quanzhou and southern Fujian cultural world. Together, these heritages reflect the rich diversity of the Minnan landscape:
Jinjiang · Nan An · Hui An · Yong Chun · Anxi · Tong An · Kinmen
